La Palma and Smoke-Free Policies
The American Lung Association’s “State of Tobacco Control” 2025 report card evaluates state and federal tobacco control policies and translates the relative progress into a letter grade of “A” for excellent tobacco control policies through “F” which indicates inadequate policies.

Current Smoke-Free Policies
Policies prohibiting the use of tobacco products and deeming it unlawful in all city parks and recreation facilities:
- 4 in Recreation Areas including but not limited to:
- any public park or city facility
- anywhere within 25 feet of any public park, public sidewalks, streets, and alleys
- 1 in Sidewalks
